I was listening to the lecture by Randy Pausch, which is famous world wide as the last lecture. Randy Pausch was diagonized of cancer and was told that he has only few weeks to live.
I bet you can never see anyone being so strong having known that he is going to die in a few weeks.
Here are a few things that caught my attention from the numerous examples he gave which I feel will definately influence anyone.
1.Achieve your dreams and help others achieve their dreams. Most satisfying thing in life would be to help others achieve their dreams.
2. When you are screwing up something badly and no one tells you anything about it, that means they gave up. When you are doing something wrong and there is nobody to tell you that it is wrong, that is a very bad place to be.
3. When you are young enough and you train for anything with your heart in it, it just becomes a part of you.
4. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you wanted.
5. Brick walls are not there to stop you. They are there to tell you how badly you wanted that.
Brick walls are there to show your dedication.
6. Be good at something, it makes you valuable.
7. Find the best in everybody; no matter how you have to wait for them to show it.
8. Be prepared: "luck" is where preparation meets oppurtunity.
9. It is not the things that you have done you will regret on your death bed; it is the things you have not done.
10. Your passion shouldn't come from things, you passion shouldn't come from money. Because more the things and more the money you have, you will look around and use that as the metrics and you will always find other people who have more.
Lastly, the most touching moment was when he said "I did not give this speech for the 400 people present in this hall, but it is for my 3 kids whom am going to leave."
